I fully understand the requirement and the frustration that this can cause !

Bottom line: there is no feature available within the Teradata rdbms which will do this for you. It has to be done by an application of which Teradata Manager is the only commercially available one (that I'm aware of) that you can buy off the shelf. Of course, there's nothing to stop you writing your own - which I'm sure more than one Teradata site has done.
