Hi Sudarsan:

I am going to make an assumption here, which can be dangerous, but here goes...

Since you are experiencing idle sessions, it must either be too many sessions requested in,

1. MLOAD or Fastload

OR

2. Users not doing anything

If it is the first situation, you can use the SESSIONS parameter to request fewer sessions (defaults to 1 per AMP, based on factor of 16)

The SESSIONS is a command in Fastload and an option of the .BEGIN in MLOAD and FastExport.

If it is because of users, the Dave's suggestion of Query manager is probably the way to go.
