Subj:   Re: ODBC Access

From:   John K. Wight

I kind of agree with David on just what your concerns are. I've used BI-Query (and it's predecessor - GQL) a lot with Teradata and never really had an issue. Remember it is the user id and database you use in your logon that dictates what you see - just like anything - e.g. Queryman, other tools, BTEQ, etc. It is standard practice to provide a 'view layer' between the user and the base tables. Even using MS Access if I log on with my user id and specify what database (i.e. view database) that I'm interested in, I only get what is available in that database. I don't see system tables unless I don't specify any database when logging in. Hope this helps.
