It is rare to see more than 2 to 4 SIs on Teradata tables (there are exceptions). Careful evaluation should be done before putting a SI on a table to ensure that it will be of benefit. There is a cost in space and updating time for each SI added. Use good modeling techniques and the explain to ensure the SIs are being used.
