We are having a problem backing up databases using ARCMAIN; I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this error. The error we get is:

"Failure ARC0800: an open error occurred on file filename.
Archive file open failure, code: -93
VOLUME SET NAME SYNTAX ERROR (-93)"

We have tried a variety of names, in case perhaps the problem was the length of the filename, but have had no success. Has anyone got any ideas?
