Howard,

The Timestamp datatype does not support formats so far, so formatting it manually like you do is the only chance to get it into the database (so it's kind of useless, you just have a timestamp, but you can't do anything with it).

We already addressed this matter to NCR, and probably a format clause will be supported in one of the next releases.

Until then we continue using a combination of one Date and one Integer field; not nice but working.
