  Were you looking in PMON or through the supervisor window (qrysessn) and seeing the id idle? I've had instances where a hung id showed idle in PMON but aborting through qrysessn.  



The sessions were just idle; I checked in qrysessn. I've not used PMON before. Looking in one of our Brian Marshall books, I see you grant MONITOR privileges, but it doesn't really tell you how to use them. Is PMON a Teradata utility like qrysessn, or is it like WinDDI? I suppose it may not even exist on TNT...

We've not had the unkillable sessions since, although the Dr Watson error is still occurring (I failed miserably to find the DR that Luc mentioned in his message - nothing at all seems available on the NCR Support link at www.portal.ncr.com ).
