Gigabit Ethernet is imminent! The config that Claudio described can also be scaled via adding bigger or add'l nodes (e.g. for
cluster dumps or parallel dumps of different databases). More LAN bandwidth can be provided e.g. via GIG-E and/or an Ethernet switch
so the data flowing between Teradata and the backup server can flow across as many routes as there are Teradata nodes with NICs
connected to the switch.
