I 've observed that more and more people use Business Objects, We have now 2 system teradata, a DWH (5150 12 nodes 2TB) and a new datamart which will work only for BO users(5200 6 nodes 1.5TB).

All our clients (400 on DWH and more than 700 on DATAMART, 3000 in a few) are disappointed, because the connection time is completely execrable, on any system it take, only for the connection, on a full idle machine (during the night where nobody use the system) 1 minute, and during the business hours 4 to 7 minutes before to do anything !!!

we have tested the same operation on oracle (same repository) ... 6 secondes !!! The French bank (CTIRCEAL)* 12 nodes TPA 5100m have the same troubles, they have tested the same as us but on a low cost PC with SQL serveur -> connection time 10 secondes !!!

We want to open a new teradata system on inthernet with BO, we are hesitate with an other database system just for this ridiculous trouble.

Please, can someone help us to solve this stuff ! I'm sure that other people all over the world have that kind trouble with teradata.
