I have tried this, but what I am doing is creating a tab delimited file with

     select  ||x'09'||||x'09'||||...

I can't get the hex '09' character into the file using the report option, while it exports successfully with the data option. It comes into the file as a space or spaces instead of the tab character using report.

That's another way of looking at it, is there a way to make the '09' character export into the file using report?
