| Subj: | | How to stop or avoid Rollback or recovery process |
| |
| From: | | Kenneth Stiglich |
A lot of times I have been in problems because some development people send wrong queries that take a lot of resources and time,
and after a few time the programmer discover that his query is wrong. At this point we stop the query but the machine starts an
automatic rollback, and we don't have any way to stop the rollback. Do you know if there is a way to stop a rollback, considering
that maybe the last table will be garbage data and you don't need to wait 8 hours rollback or more because you really don't need that
data.
I restarted the machine and the aborting process change to be a recovery process, but It's still consuming the same processor
resources.
