Thanks for the clarification - however, I may not be the brightest person in the world. What is computer B? Is it the Teradata system or an IBM Host with Channel connect, or another UNIX system, etc. etc.? What computer is A, a PC, a UNIX system, an IBM Host, etc.? What is it running - e.g. TCP/IP with Sockets, ODBC, WinCLI, etc.? What error message/code are you getting when you fail to connect? What is your system that you are running Teradata on - DBC1020, 3600, 5100, 4700, 4300,??

And you are right - Informix is NOT Teradata!
