I've tried this and get the same results. What's confusing to me is that in the NCR Teradata DBS for Unix SQL Reference Manual, the From element is clearly shown in the Update statement syntax with an optional As and aname (alias). However, every time that I've tried to use it, I get the 'Illegal usage of alias name' error. We'll be going to V3 in a couple of months, maybe this will work then?
