For those with hands-on experience, I really think that Certification is redundant.

Where it might help is for those looking for their first Teradata position. Then again, the Teradata seems to be pretty easy (in a relative sort of way) to master. I suspect that most of us have mastered it on our own.

What seems more demanding is having the business and RDB skills that are expected to go along with the Teradata skills. If Certification doesn't cover those skills as well, then I can't see where Certification buys anything.
